The second instalment of Blue Planet aired last night, this wildlife documentary series opens our eyes and minds to the mysteries of the ocean. It is very common for an individual to be uneducated about what goes on within the deep oceans around the world as there is so much that is yet to be discovered. This episode in the series featured stunning visuals and interesting information which engaged and surprised audiences, alongside these intriguing visuals there was the usual voice over by David Attenborough who audiences adore. Within this voice over he brought the audiences attention to the problems within our seas due to human consumption and use, this was done in a very polite and subtle manner as audiences would expect from Attenborough. He detailed how our waste effects the species and their habitats, by placing this speech over the stunning visuals of the species in their natural habitats and the information coming from an individual as respected as Attenborough it makes the viewer feel bad and guilty of these current issues. As the information is coming from an individual who is known for his love of our planet and its animal inhabitants and he as an individual is loved for this, it really touches a nerve and makes the viewer realise how negative our impacts are and creates an urge in wanting to change this. The BBC have a page within its website dedicated to the Blue Planet series and they have an area on small changes audiences can make to help stop the negative impacts we have on our oceans, this is a great follow up to Attenborough highlighting the issues and it it will helpfully bring peoples awareness to what we can do to help keep our oceans clean and healthy.
