It is very positive that ethnic and gender diversity is finally beginning to occur within the television production industry, especially within high job roles. All of the percentages are refreshing to view and the increase can be visually seen in comparison to prior years but the question which is always considered is how has it taken so long for this to happen? In our modern world these percentages should have appeared years ago and it is disappointing that is has taken until 2016 for them to reach this high. The television and film industry often release various statistics which makes them appear as modern industries but when compared to others in the arts they are extremely behind on ethnic and gender diversity which they need to accept and ensure they pioneer ways to change this negative element of the industry, making them truly modern in every aspect and not only in carefully selected statistics which appear in media articles.
