It is extremely unethical that adults would give a 14 year old criticism for not acknowledging them, in a normal circumstance this would be classed as harassment but as the 14 year old is an actor it is allowed and dismissed as the norm. It is very sad that a teenager cannot walk a small distance without being expected to stop to speak to fans, being an actor is a job role and in this case when the actor is playing a character in a hit television series people forget that the individual has a personal life outside of their role and character. Sophie Turner, who began filming Game of Thrones when she was only 15 and was suddenly launched into fame when the series became popular worldwide can relate to this criticism. She has used her public platform to defend the young actor and express her concern over allowing the young actors to "grow without feeling like they owe anyone anything for living their childhood dreams" and as she has lived her own childhood dream from a young age she is speaking from experience which will hopefully open audiences eyes and make them realise that a lot is expected of a child at such a young age when they are within the industry, without audiences adding their pressure towards them too. She also highlights that it is extremely odd that an adult would wait outside a child's hotel for them to pass, if this happened to a 14 year old child who had no fame to their name it is likely the adult would be questioned or arrested. This sparks the question of why they are not treated the same just because the child is famous and people believe it comes with the job, being an actor does not include being harassed in the contract they sign so why is it forced upon them with no defence other than individuals who will speak out and support the young actor who won't speak out himself due to brutal criticism.

"He put himself in that position by becoming an actor, this comes with fame and fortune and people will follow."
