This is very educational and eye opening for individuals who are unaware of the production scale and waste within the fashion industry. Its hard to believe that these figures are true as they are so extreme and baffling to read, these figures could make any reader feel guilty if they are considered as part of the throw away nature we have within this modern age. As an individual with this nature I definitely feel guilty and awful reading this, I am at fault as I have purchased clothes and worn them once before later on giving them to charity shops and feeling like the issue is sorted through this action. It is worrying to read that the greenhouse emissions from the fashion industry is larger than international flights as most people would assume that travel within this large scale would be the biggest issue, not clothes we wear everyday and don't think much of leaving them in our wardrobes for years. Reading this has changed my outlook on the throw away nature we have and would impact my use and length of wearing clothing as I feel part of this extreme issue our environment is facing. The actions this report details on making the fashion industry more sustainable appear extremely effective and well thought out to maximise the action, these developments should be enforced and continued until these figures are much lower and the industry is not impacting the environment in such a vast negative way. This negative impact is never going to disappear entirely as clothing and textiles will always be produced, but to minimise the impact as much as possible would be a huge positive for our planet and its environment.
